Residents enjoy arts and crafts

Arts and crafts

A new care services project has been initiated to provide our residents and service users with a range of activities, which will help maintain or improve the quality of their life and wellbeing through socialising and meaningful activities. This will involve activities that promote physical fitness, encourage learning, reduce isolation and provide mental and social stimulation.

Arts and crafts

The first Art and Craft session was recently held, an activity chosen by residents at Park Lodge House consisted of 10 residents and some family members painting. It turned out to be an enjoyable and engaging session for the residents, who showed interest in attending the activity again.

What has been observed overall in these 3 sessions is the improvement in the wellbeing of our residents. While one of our resident's has Parkinson, has not only managed to stick the pictures and make cards but also colour with a firmer and steadier grip. Another resident who suffered a stroke in 2012, resulting in weakness in his limbs, said that he was ‘happy to be able to use his hand to make cards and colour.’

Keep visiting us to see the activities we have lined up for our residents and service users.
