Sunny day at the seaside for the Kensington Day Centre

Members of the Kensington Day Centre took a trip to the seaside in July to enjoy a day of sun, sea and tasty fish and chips in Southend.

The annual seaside outing was partly in celebration of 59 years of the Kensington Day Centre (KDC), which has been running a five-days-a-week day centre for older people.

Octavia’s care team run the KDC from Octavia’s bright and inviting multi-generation community hub at The Reed in North Kensington. The KDC provides daily activities and a freshly cooked lunch for up to five days a week for members.

And the team, who have known many members for years, never pass up the opportunity to celebrate. The trip to Southend was the latest of regular outings for members throughout the year.

The members enjoyed time on the beach, ice creams, and a delicious fish and chips dinner from Pebbles Restaurant.

Special thanks go to the Friends of the KDC, who are dedicated in their support for the club and helped fund the trip. Many of them accompanied Octavia care staff for the trip to ensure members had a good time.
