Miranda House (CQC Rating: Good)

Located on Penzance Street in Holland Park, Miranda House offers 20 one-bedroom flats. Each flat has its own lounge and kitchen, as well as en-suite facilities. Residents also have use of a shared lounge, kitchen, laundry and garden. The home is set within a popular residential area, within easy reach of local shops, cafes, pubs, places of worship, a chemist, a GP surgery and public transport links.

We encourage every resident to live as independently as possible and make sure that the care and support we provide is tailored to each person’s individual needs. Our building has been specifically designed to meet the needs of older people and is fully wheelchair-accessible.

What Miranda House can offer you

Our care team is on-site day and night, every day of the year, so you will always have access to the support you need. Tasks that we can help you with include personal care, preparing and cooking meals, shopping, cleaning, laundry and organising repairs to your home.

A homely environment

You can move into an unfurnished flat, bringing your own furniture and belongings with you, or if you prefer we can provide you with a furnished tenancy. Family members and friends are welcome to visit you at any time.

Social activities

You can choose to take part in a wide range of activities, including gentle exercise classes, baking, film nights, board games and karaoke evenings. We hold regular tea and coffee mornings where we discuss stories in the newspapers and we also like to visit the local library. Once a month we get together for a special meal with foods from different cultures.

Safety and security

Each flat is equipped with a pull-cord so that you can quickly and easily get help when you need it.

Looking after your health

We have close links with the local dementia service and health professionals including GPs and district nurses come to Miranda House whenever they are needed. A chiropodist visits every three months and we can easily arrange for home visits from opticians and dentists too. We can support you to manage your medication and come with you to medical appointments if you would like us to.
